In the event that as a Starter you observe that a swimmer was not stationary before the starting signal, what steps follow your observation?

Hi Adam,

Many thanks for your question!

In the event that as a Starter you observe that a swimmer was not stationary before the starting signal, they should give the “Stand down” instruction and the start sequence will begin again.

If the start signal has already been given, then this would be a mistake from the Starter and they should advise the Referee and note the incident on his/her program.
